IS IT POSSIBLE TO LEARN IN A SHORT TIME WITHOUT SPENDING YEARS GOING THROUGH COLORED BELTS?

Yes! Any student may choose a specialized course that I call (SDT) meaning Self Defense Training. The student can go through a series of levels and graduate with great knowledge of self-defense techniques. For better understanding this course should take three months.

The student will learn many short cut methods on how to get out of holds and grabs. They will learn the basic kicks and punches. They will learn to react in an unwanted situation. If the student dedicates his time without to many missing classes he or she can become very proficient.

WHAT DO THE DIFFERENT COLORED BELTS SIGNIFY IN BOX HAP JU SUL?

The belts color system is simply a series of levels of knowledge between the white belt of the novice and the highest degree of black belt. The color of succession is white, yellow, orange, purple, purple 2, green, green 2, blue, blue 2, brown, brown 2, red, and black. All grades before the black is known as gup. In the black belts there are 9 degrees known as dan, the 10th degree is reserved for the founder Master Chuck Wayne, as honorary. Roughly the person with a black belt 4th Dan knows well over 800 techniques. After the 4th Dan the student promotion is based continued mastery of technical skills, years of service, and contribution to the studies of Box Hop Ju Sul.
