How does Box Hap Ju Sul compare with other styles of martial arts?

Most of the martial art schools of today specialize in the Tae Kwon Do (The art of kick, punch, and block). One of the main reasons for this is that this is often used in such competition as contest, tournaments, and even International games. Combat Box Hop Ju Sul with its devastating Hapkido and Judo techniques rarely ever enters these games due to the serious Joint-locks and throws. Although some Hapkidoest and Judokas have participated, they would have to alter their form to more of a Tae Kwon Do practice.

Many Hapkido or Box Hap Ju Sul purists do not agree with the entry of this style of martial arts into the world of sports. Box Hap Ju Sul is simple to aggressive.

Combat Box Hap Ju Sul as of Hapkido is so effective that in competition, kicks and punches have to be "pulled." Joint locks, manipulations and throws cannot be practiced during such tournaments, thus spoiling the development of the practitioner's art.

Combat Box Hap Ju Sul is a style of martial arts that is most efficient for combat or self-defense. Box Hap Ju Sul incorporates the best and most elegant techniques of several disciplines of the martial arts. The students learn the way of defense for all points around the body, not just from the front. The student learns to defend themselves from the ground position as well as standing. Women and men are taught how to get out of awkward position such as from car hoods, chairs, tied down, and on their stomach position. This is especially great for females that are caught into an aggressive rap attack. The student also learns to handle more than one opponent at a time.

The students learn to defend from attackers who might have a weapon such as a gun, knife, or a club. The use of various weapons and objects used as weapons is part of some of our advanced techniques.

The most common weapons taught to students in Box Hap Ju Sul are, cane, long staff, sai, short stick, rope, sword, tonfa, gun and knife.

In hand gun training the student is taught the deference in automatic and revolver weapons. They are also encouraged to take a handgun course so that they would have some common knowledge of the use of weapons. In advance knife training the students must practice with a real knife. This gives them more confidence in a reality situation. All knives are practice under extreme supervision.

Combat Box Hap Ju Sul is not esoteric, but is a quite practical and efficient style of self-defense.
